How you take an item off an order depends on whether it has already been sent to the kitchen. Items that haven't been sent can simply be removed. Items that have been sent are voided, so the change is recorded and the kitchen can be told.
On the iPad
Items not yet sent to the kitchen
Swipe left on the item and tap Delete, or
tap the item and tap Remove Item, or
to take off just one of several, tap the item and use the - button.
Items already sent to the kitchen
Swipe left on the item and tap Void, or tap the item and tap Remove Item. The order switches to void mode.
Tap each item you want to void. Items that haven't been sent yet are marked Not sent to prep and can't be selected, as they can be removed normally.
Tap Void Selected Items. To leave void mode without voiding anything, tap Cancel.
Voiding saves the order and sends the change to the kitchen straight away, then the till moves to a fresh order. Voided items stay on the order marked as voided. If you use print routes, the kitchen ticket marks the items as VOID.

On Seamless on Android

Common questions
Who can void items? Voiding needs a Supervisor, Manager or Owner. Staff on the User level will see Cannot Enter Void Mode. Ask a supervisor to sign in on the till, then switch back once the void is done. Removing items that haven't been sent to the kitchen doesn't need permission.
What happens if I void everything on the order? The order closes on its own. On the Android apps no ticket goes to the kitchen in this case, so let the kitchen know directly.
Can I record a reason for the void? Not at the moment.
Why can't I change a paid order? Once an order is fully paid it is closed, and items can't be added or removed. To give money back, use a refund instead.
How do I cancel the whole order? Use Abandon Order. See How do I abandon an order?
