No Sale opens the cash drawer without taking a payment, for example to give change for a note or to check the float. Each No Sale is recorded as its own £0 order containing a NO SALE line, so it still appears in your order history.
On the iPad
Start from an empty order. If there are items on screen, save or finish that order first.
Tap Menu at the top of the order panel.
Tap No Sale. The drawer opens straight away and the till starts a fresh order.
On Seamless Pocket (handhelds)
Start from an empty order.
Tap the total bar at the bottom of the screen to open the order, then tap the ••• button next to the terminal number.
Tap No Sale.
On Seamless on Android
Start from an empty order.
Tap Menu, then No Sale.
On both Android apps, No Sale needs a Supervisor, Manager or Owner. Staff on the User level will see Cannot perform No Sale.
Common questions
Why is No Sale not working? It only works on an empty order. If anything has been rung up you will see The current order is not empty, you cannot perform a No Sale. Save or finish the current order, then try again. No Sale isn't available while you are looking at a paid order.
Why didn't the drawer open? The drawer is opened by the receipt printer, so the terminal needs a receipt printer assigned and the drawer cable plugged into the back of that printer. Landi all-in-one units with a built-in drawer open it directly. If everything is set up and the drawer still stays shut, try a different drawer cable, as a faulty cable is the most common cause. See How do I connect an ESC/POS printer to Seamless?
Does No Sale work on a Teya handheld? Handhelds don't have a drawer of their own, so the drawer only opens if that terminal has a drawer-capable receipt printer set up. The No Sale is still recorded either way.
Who can use No Sale? On Seamless Pocket and Seamless on Android it is limited to Supervisors, Managers and Owners. On the iPad anyone signed in to the till can use it.
