How to perform a split payment on seamless POS

Seamless POS lets you split a single bill across multiple payments — useful when a table wants to pay separately, or one customer wants to pay by cash and another by card.

Opening Split Payment

With an open order containing items, tap Menu → Split Payment.

You'll see two modes at the top:

- Auto Split — divide the bill evenly between a number of people

- Custom Amount — enter any amount per payment

Auto Split

Use the + and buttons to set how many people are splitting the bill. Each person's share appears as a row.

Tap Pay next to a customer to take their payment. Choose Cash, Manual, or your card terminal (e.g. Teya, Dojo).

Once everyone has paid, the modal closes automatically.

Custom Amount

Use this when payments aren't equal — for example, "I'll pay £5 of this".

Tap Make Payment, enter the amount on the keypad, and pick a payment type.

Adding gratuity

If you enter more than the remaining balance, the extra is recorded as a gratuity automatically. A blue label confirms this:

£2.00 gratuity included

Cash Payments

When you choose Cash, you'll be asked to enter the cash received. Quick buttons (£5, £10, £20) and Exact are available alongside the keypad.

If the customer hands over more than the amount due, you'll see a toggle:

- Change — give the difference back as change (default)

- Gratuity — keep the difference as a tip ("keep the change")

After confirming, the Change Due screen appears briefly and dismisses itself, returning you to the Split Payment screen (or closing the modal if the bill is fully paid).

Cancelling

Tap Cancel at any time to back out. Any payments already taken are kept against the order — the order stays open with the remaining balance.
